Leona Naess是著名的Diana Ross前夫Arne Naess的女儿，她生于英国伦敦并在那里长到18岁才返回纽约，之后就在纽约大学学习音乐。她的音乐受到广泛的影响，作为Indie Rock/Folk歌手，受到Joni Mitchell和Edie Brickell的影响是很自然的---尤其是同Edie如出一辙的声线，听了都让人觉得像到不可思议，但同时她的音乐还被The Cure，Da vid Bowie以及Joy Division所影响着。
