缓的吉他声线 同样低缓的感性女声以及贝司所营造的回响空间，这就是Ida的迷人之处。Ida的音乐我更愿意将其当作感伤名谣小调来欣赏，听他们的音乐就是要浸入其间感受，跟着他们的节拍捕捉当下的思绪！但是他们的音乐确是多变的，从acoustic chamber pop、old time folk、free improvisation（即兴演奏）到minimalist drones、shimmering harmonies以及Krautrock ambience
in Sweden, Ida is not an entirely new acquaintance. During the final season of the televised talent search Fame Factory, Ida became one of the most popular contestants and ended up in a very flattering fourth place.
For those who knew her, it was a very unlikely place for her to be.
- I had always told my friends that I would never audition for a TV-talent search like Idol, but I did and I got very far. I was a bit ashamed since I didn’t know how to tell my friends when I was accepted.
But being exposed to a huge TV crowd isn’t that bad, especially if you’ve got talent. Since then, Ida has supported herself and even paid her own way through school by singing in a popular cover band.
Ida was born in the city of Falun in the heart of Sweden and grew up in the quaint village of Folkärna outside Avesta.
- I had a very happy child hood, she recalls. At least up until my teens when things got a bit tough. I went to a small village-school where rules were strict, but it was a great place. There were only three other girls in school and they were best mates, so I became a bit of an outsider. I wasn’t the pretty girl with boys flirting, I was a bit chubby and shy.
Ida grew up in a family of four, with an older sister and brother, but when her parents divorced she stayed with her mum.
At three, Ida began singing in a choir and at six she started playing the violin. She kept at it for eight years, learning how to read music, but slowly but surely the singing became her primary interest.
Ida had discovered early on that she had a powerful voice. She would scream att the top of her lungs all the time, a bad habit that lead to problems with her vocal chords. As a result of the yelling, her voice is now permanently husky.
- I remember when I met this man who’d been deaf all his life. I screamed in a very high pitch and he started to cry. He heard me – and it was the first time he’d ever heard anything! It s pretty fantastic.
Over time I..D.A. has become a band name and she´s backed by four highly skilled and competent musicians, including her brother Andreas on drums.
Ida’s music is leaning towards a little tougher sound. Although the adores big, black voices like Whitney Houston, Chaka Kahn and Mariah Carey, she also embraces rock with an attitude – as long as it has a solid melody.
Her characteristic voice matches her vibrant and colorful personality. Ida loves to stick out in a crowd and actually loves excess.
- I’m a bit of a chameleon, she muses. I love hair and make up. I’ve gone from sporting an afro to having long, straight hair. From short to long, from blonde to jet black. The only time I get nervous, though is when I don’t get nervous before a gig. You need that adrenalin rush to focus.
Ida grew up with a Christian faith, one she still embraces, but it s personal and isn’t reflected in her music.
- Having faith is important to me, but I don’t go around and beat people in the head with the bible, she laughs. I don’t consider myself a Christian artist. I want to tell stories based on life.
And she does. More often than not, her lyrics reflects her concern for the environment and the abuse we expose our planet to. In Armageddon Ready she´s addressing the problems with a dark sense of humor and irony. The world as we know it has ceased to exist as a result of our choices and exaggerated freedom, and all there´s left is to climb into the life boats and sail on – to an uncertain future.
In Shop ´til You Drop she questions the shopping frenzy we all have fallen victims to.
Her lyrics have content beyond pure entertainment. Ida wants the listener to reflect, or at least think for him – or her- self.
