虽说Rufus在唱法上极力模仿Jeff,但是听起来与Jeff的感觉完全不同. Rufus的听起来象首动情的情歌,而Jeff的歌里那种深深的绝望,让人心碎. Leonard Cohen，以前在潜水员之家介绍过他的名作【IN MY SECERT LIFE】（在我的秘密生涯）。此曲【HALLELUJAH】旋律哀怨低徊，结构上又近似循环式圣诗体，高潮咏唱部分极度舒展，给人如同沐浴圣主光华的感受。但早期版本，后部歌词以及编曲都和现在这个版本很不一样，尤其是科恩主唱的版本，充满磁性的低音，低回饱满的吟唱，又如同另一杯香醇的美酒

Hallelujah来自希伯莱语，意为“赞美你,上帝”，原是一首优美的圣歌。加拿大民谣诗人Leonard Cohen1984年写下了这首歌，并被Bob Dylan, John Cash等人翻唱，其中最好听的版本当属K.D.Lang，最悲伤的版本是Jeff Buckley在94年专辑里的演唱。对我而言，我最喜欢的还是老男人的原版，不紧不慢，悠悠荡荡，满嗓子里都是对现世的悲悯和对被误解的宽容和讪笑。
普遍认为，年过半百的歌手在这首歌展示了他深沉的宗教情怀，holyshit，还不如说这是首反基督歌曲呢。作为一个看尽繁华和凄凉的老油条，一个有着鲜明思想个性的诗人，到了知天命的年纪还要假模假式的皈依上帝，那他妈才有鬼呢。我的翻译有的地方不很套词，就是试图用意译来表达歌手的创作心理。“cut your hair”这一句我不好把握，因为古代西方也有不剪头发的习俗，剪去头发如果意味着掠夺尊严，也可以说的通。我只是宁愿把“cut”理解成穿过，来解释世俗对信仰的强烈诱惑。再看看这一句：“There's a blaze of light in every word”，直译是说每个唱词后面都有明亮的光芒，似乎可以理解成圣歌沉淀了一份神圣的温情，不用歌词也足以温暖心扉。是吗？真逗。
“blaze”在英语里还有邪恶之物的含义，那可不可以理解成歌者在进行严肃的语言游戏？上帝早就死了，或者说从没存在过，苦难者依然要忍受苦难，他们的冀望又能以什么作为实体依托呢？不如让他们唱吧，得到心灵慰藉也是好的。好了，你要诘问我对歌曲意味的判断依据是什么？
最后一段中“I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you”。你猜我从这句话里找到了谁的影子？
